MusicLM is an AI model that generates high-fidelity music from text descriptions. It uses a hierarchical sequence-to-sequence modeling approach to generate music that remains consistent over several minutes. The tool outperforms previous systems in terms of audio quality and adherence to the text description. It can also be conditioned on both text and a melody, allowing it to transform whistled and hummed melodies according to the style described in a text caption. The tool is supported by the MusicCaps dataset, which contains 5.5k music-text pairs with rich text descriptions provided by human experts.
